Kitchen Reno
Looking for a
designer kitchen on a budget? It can be done. For
this house, we tore the kitchen down to the
cabinets, stripped, primed and finished them with
melamine paint, adding a microwave shelf along the
way. New custom-fit face plates were added for a
clean look above and below the counter top. Brushed
aluminium hinges and handles were chosen to adorn
the custom-sized mission-style doors and drawer
fronts. In all, the job came in under $3,450 (tax

Inspired by the Corona style of
furniture, this 36" x 20" x 30" natural pine vanity is to
be paired with a hand-painted porcelain vessel sink from
Mexico. It's finished with ipswich pine stain and satin
varnish, and features black hinges, 5" hammered pulls and
